Did you Know you can add real gold to your creations?

We have a selection of lustres that can be painted on finished glazed ceramics pieces made at the studio: real 18 carats gold, platinum and mother of pearl. Once painted onto the pieces, they go back in the kiln for a third firing and we can vouch that they will stay on. Do you know how Anaick checked?

  • studio news: can you use stencils on clay?

At the Happy studio, we are always looking for new fun creations we can share with you.

It just happens that the studio’s Santa has delivered some tools we had never tried before: stencils!

What do you think? Does it work?

  • Shani and Anaick are working in the Happy studio. on the worktop, between them, sits a very rough sculpture of a ball of clay sitting on top of a neck shape piece of clay. one can guess that it will eventually become a portrait sculpture. The girls are deep in discussion, planning the next stages of the sculpting process. Shani is measuring the depth of the ball of clay between her hands and Anaick seems to have remembered something important and is waggling her finger in the air. lol

    Creating an important family portrait

This year, we want to put into practice the skills we learnt on our French adventures when we attended a sculpture course in Toulouse to learn how to create a life size ceramic portrait. We are now working on the sculpture of a dear family member and it is an absolute delight.
