Spend a creative day on Portland and make your own ceramic Christmas wreath to add to your family’s favourite seasonal decorations for years to come.
What to expect:
This booking is for Sunday 19th of October from 11am to 5pm with a 1h30 break. The price is per person.
You will learn how to design and create a ceramic Christmas wreath and add details to your creation. Your teachers will show you how to build a double layered wreath one easy step at a time, making sure that you create a sculpture you can truly be proud off.
Between 11am and midday you will prepare your clay, decide on your design and details and learn how to make coloured slip.
You will then have 1h30 free to go and have lunch in one of the island’s cafés (we can advise you if you want) or bring your own lunch to eat on site. At 1:30pm, the clay will be ready to cut and you will start building and decorating your wreath.
Anaïck is a sensitive teacher with over 30 years experience of delivering fully planned and supportive lessons in mainstream education. She has transferred all her skills and specialist training into her ceramic workshops and leads happy, calm and sympathetic sessions in her happy studio.
Your wreath will need a few of weeks to dry fully and be fired in the kiln. Anaïck will then add transparent glaze and it will be kiln fired a second time. We will advertise on our website and social media when it is ready to collect.
All tools, materials, tuitions and 2 kiln firings are included.
